She was the cherished daughter of Jose Nieves Navarro and Rosa Saldivar Navarro, and a loving sister to Jose “Joe” Navarro (who preceded her in passing on December 27, 1993). Growing up, she learned the value of hard work and dedication while helping her family at their restaurant, El Taxco, established in 1947. It was there that she developed her incredible work ethic and warm, welcoming spirit that so many will always remember.
She was a devoted mother to her three children, Patricia, Wilman, and Sonia, who were the center of her world. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Erika Burnias (who preceded her in passing on November 27, 2021), Christian Chavez, Joshua Lujan, Emily Chavez Grogan, Jacob Duncan, Katie Duncan, and Gabriela Lujan, as well as her ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
She will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the love she gave so freely. Her presence filled every room, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Though she is no longer with us, her love remains a guiding light in our lives—forever felt, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
