Rosalinda Garza de Salas was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico on March 16, 1947 and went to be with her sisters in glory on August 9, 2026. She was raised in the city by her father, Enrique Garza and her step-mother Consuelo Bernal along with her siblings Margarita Garza, Maria del Carmen Garza and her half-siblings Consuelo Villarreal, Jaime Garza and Enrique Garza, Jr.
She met Ricardo Salas at a La Iztaccihuatl Bookstore and soon they became inseparable. They were married on May 22, 1968 and migrated to Chicago, Illinois to start their lives as newlyweds. Soon after she gave birth to Ricardo Salas Jr, and Claudia Salas and their next adventure took them to Dallas, Texas where she gave birth to Alexander Salas, Marco Antonio Salas and Geovanna Elizabeth Salas.
Ricardo and Rosalinda lived in Oak Cliff in the same home for 40 years. A small, simple home filled with love that welcomed family and friends during their transitions and life journeys. There was always room for more, she would say, “Donde comen dos, comen cuatro.” And she fed us all very well. Rosalinda demonstrated her love and kindness with food. It was what she was revered for and everyone who knew her can attest to.
Rosalinda was primarily a housewife, but also worked off and on as a housekeeper or nanny for many wonderful families. She took care of dozens of beautiful children who all have expressed what an impact Rosalinda had on their lives, as well.
She was loved by many and will always be remembered for her fun, playful and silly personality. She lived selflessly for her family and cared for many more.
She retired as a housekeeper at the age of 68, they sold the Gladstone house in 2019 and moved to what her grandchildren refer to as The Huelos’ House in Desoto, Texas.
She is preceded by her parents, Enrique Garza, Consuelo Bernal, and mother, Nemesia De la Rosa. Her sisters Margarita Garza, Maria del Carmen Garza and Enrique Garza, Jr.
