Rose Lee (Manning) Waldrum

Age 80, was born October 26, 1931 in Cumby, TX to Wesley Strong & Lola (Keeton) Manning & died on August 4, 2012 in Garland, TX following a stroke. She attended East TX Teachers College, Abilene Christian College, and taught elementary school in Garland from 1958 until her retirement in 1987. Rose was a long-time member of Garland Road Church of Christ and recently Highland Oaks Church of Christ. One of Rose’s greatest joys was helping others. She was involved with Helping Hearts Ministry at Highland Oaks.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy Manning; and sister, Mary Jo Seastrunk. She is survived by her daughters, Lola Waldrum, and Laurel (Waldrum) Piontek and husband Mike; granddaughter, Olya Waldrum, whom she loved and adored with all her heart; nephew, Oliver Seastrunk; niece, Mary Claire (Seastrunk) Campos; great niece, Rachel (Seastrunk) Holcombe, great nephews, Trent Seatrunk and Wesley Alvarado; great great niece, Hannah Holcombe; and cousins, Jean Shafer, Vicki Murphy-Kendall & Pat Pierce.

A viewing will be Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home in Dallas. A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at 1 pm at Highland Oaks Church of Christ, 10805 Walnut Hill Ln. Dallas 75238. A reception at the church and burial at Cumby Cemetery in Cumby, TX will follow.

Donations may be made in Rose’s name to the American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen For the Cure or Helping Hearts Ministry at Highland Oaks Church of Christ.
