Roswitha Anna (Sita) White passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born in Trier, Germany on May 22, 1940. She was the only child of the late Elisabeth and Johann Schneider.
Upon graduating from high school, Sita turned down a full college scholarship to work as a secretary to help support her parents. She met her future husband, William John (Bill) White, at a famous ice cream parlor in Trier while he was stationed in Bitburg, Germany serving in the United States Air Force.
Sita married Bill in Trier in 1959 and gave birth to a daughter, Denise Katherine, later that year. The new family relocated to California in 1960, where Bill was recognized as Outstanding Assistant Air Traffic Controller in the United States while at Oakland Center. Later, they moved back to Bill’s native Texas, settling in Killeen, near Fort Hood, on a 20-acre ranch where they raised their three children (Steven John, born in California, and Curt Anthony, born in Texas).
Tragically, Bill died in 1971 as a result of a glider accident, leaving Sita widowed. Subsequently, she devoted her life to her children. When Curt entered high school, Sita embarked on a remarkable, 30-year career as a residential realtor before relocating to Dallas to manage her son, Steven’s medical practice.
Sita was a constant inspiration to others. She loved helping people. She was a larger-than-life figure, as those who knew her will readily attest. She touched many lives in her over eight decades. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Sita is survived by her daughter, Denise Kathrene Bennink-White; her sons, Steven and Curt; her son-in-law, Gerardus Bennink, MD; her daughters-in-law, Kimberly Dawn Aaron, MD (wife of Steven) and Kimberly Yvonne Cannon-White (wife of Curt); seven grandchildren, Nathalie Gabrielle Bennink, Isabelle Marielle Bennink, Ashley White Peacock, Brittany White Givigliano, John David Aaron, Michelle Grace Aaron, Julia Grace Aaron; and two great-grandchildren, Darien Nicholas Peacock and Vivian Tamriel Peacock.
The funeral service is set for 1:00 PM Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Sparkman – Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Dallas, Texas with Father Long officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at Sparkman – Hillcrest Cemetery.
