

Ruby Lee Calhoun was born to the parentage of Leroy Sr and Essie Mae on May 6, 1940 in Waxahachie Texas. She attended James Madison High School in Dallas TX. After graduation Ruby attended Cosmetologist school where she received her license in Cosmetology, then pursed a career at Texas Instrument in Richardson, TX, where she retired.
Ruby united in marriage to the late Isaac W. Finley in 1962, in Dallas TX. To his union, three children and one son, Bobby Lee Wallace Jr, Darrel Finley, Sharon Coleman and Shaniquwa Finley-Carter.
Church Affiliations:
Ruby accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She united with Golden Gate Missionary Church, under the pastoral leadership of Reverend C.B.T. Smith. She was an active member in the Matrons Missionary Society, Senior Missionary One Auxiliary, the Gospel Choir, North Texas District Association. She united with Greater Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Fabian K. Jacko. Served as the head cook of the Culinary Department, Deaconess Ministry, Senior Ministry and Treasury of the Senior Missionary One Auxiliary, National Baptist Convention USA, Inc Women Intermediate Auxiliary (WIA), General Baptist Convention of Texas Women's Ministry and the Senior Missionary One.
Auxiliary. She served as treasurer of the Senior Missionary One Auxiliary. Women and Girls Conference of the General Baptist Convention of Texas "Honoree of Celebrate Me!" Later she united with Greater United Christian Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Willie Range, Jr. Served in the Deaconess Ministry and the Senior Missionary Society. Ruby currently belonged to the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Kenneth King. She served as President of the Senior Missionary Society and the Deaconess Ministry Christian Women United Dallas Coalition.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Isaac Finley, one son Bobby Lee Wallace Jr, her parents Leroy Calhoun Sr and Essie Mae Henderson; three brothers Charles, Carl and Lawrence Calhoun two sisters, Annette Brown and Brenda Calhoun.
She leaves to cherish her memories: five sisters Joyce Rhyne, Patrica Calhoun, Clovis Nunn (George), Sandra Hall, Jeanette Calhoun. One son Darrel (Pauline), two daughters, Sharon Coleman (Anthony), Shaniquwa Carter (James); nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
