

Went on to be with the Lord July 10, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. Born in Mt. Pleasant Texas on May 21, 1914, she was destined to meet the love of her life Vernon Howell in Mount Pleasant Texas during the oil boom. Their marriage was to last 71 years during which she gave birth to their two sons Larry Howell and Jerry Howell. Vernon established several successful oil and energy ventures which allowed them to travel most of the world together and to own and operate two ranches. Their marriage and love was an example to all who were privileged to know them. Known affectionately as “Mother” to her two sons and “Nanny” to her grandchildren she was a model example of a nurturing and loving mother, fiercely loyal and caring wife and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. She and Vernon became a cornerstone of Park Cities Baptist Church many years where they served selflessly and enjoyed being together with their friends whenever the doors were open. She was a valued member of “The Joy Class” A little known fact, Rubye loved arts and crafts and was very artistic. She will always be remembered for her sharp wit, flawless sense of propriety, sense of style, fantastic southern cooking and her tireless commitment to her family and savior.
