He graduated from Denison High School, Austin College and The University of Oklahoma. He served in the Air Force during the close of World War 2 and the beginning of the Cold War. Rudy achieved the rank of Staff Sargeant and was honorably discharged in 1948.
Following his military service, Rudy embarked on a career in engineering, working for Union Carbide and Dow Chemical for 42 years. He was published and taught seminars on Power Generation. Toward the end of his career, he helped design, construct and manage Cogeneration plants. He retired in 1997.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Doris, son Eric, grandson Garrett, and four sisters, Mary, Bebe, Pat and Gerri, as well as multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son - Greg, parents - Mr and Mrs Rudolph Theisen, Mother and Father in law - Mr and Mrs Alton Strader, Brother and Sister in law - Sidney and Virginia Keilers and nephew Raymond Duffy and niece Ann O Brien.
Rudy was a parishioner of St Paul's Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Rudy was active in Little League, AAU Swimming, and the schools that his children attended. He served as President of one of the schools.
