Rufina “Ruby” Orozco, 83 passed away Friday January 28, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. She was born August 26, 1938 in San Antonio, Texas to Jesus Pena and Cecilia Benitez. Rufina Orozco was raised in Calvert, Texas with relatives. She married her husband of 61 years Richard Orozco, Sr., December 3, 1960 in Dallas, Texas. Richard and Rufina had three children, Richard, Robert and Michael Orozco. She worked at Parkland Hospital for over twenty years before retiring. She loved her job helping people get qualified to receive medical services.
In her spare time Ruby loved to travel. Growing up, she didn’t have the pleasure of doing it. Soon after being married, she and her husband would go on cross country road trips. They even made a road trip down to Acapulco, Mexico. Eventually, they would travel the world in their later years. Let us not forget to mention her many weekend trips with some of her best friends to the casino. What she really loved the most about traveling was going on family summer vacations with her husband and kids.
People will always remember her as the sweetest, kindest, person with the biggest heart. She touched so many lives throughout her life. Many will also remember her cooking. Ruby was one of the best cooks around. She loved making people happy and satisfied with her cooking.
