

Ruth Zeitman, 88, of Dallas passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at her home in Dallas. She never met a stranger and her home was always a welcoming place. Many remember the large holiday gatherings at her house on Pinocchio Drive in Dallas. Lovingly referred to as Mimi, she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to her large group of extended family and friends. She loved to dance beginning when she and her sisters went to dances at Camp Maxey near Paris during World War II.
Ruth was born in Pattonville, Texas on August 21, 1925 the fifth of eight children to Charlie Lee and Martha Viola Holt Pomroy. She married Billy Trieves Lopp on August 8, 1945 and was widowed in 1957 leaving a daughter Deborah. Ruth married Harold Zane Zeitman on February 17, 1963 and enjoyed thirty-four years of marriage until he passed in 1997. Hal and Ruth had two children, Sherri and Rob.
Ruth was greatly loved and admired by her family and is survived by daughter Deborah Kay and husband Rich Fulton of Highland Village, daughter Sherri Lynn Zeitman of Dallas, son Robert Lee Zeitman of Dallas, granddaughter Laura and her husband Chris Hainlen of New York City, granddaughter Lisa and her husband Jake Jackson of Flower Mound, grandson Brian Glover of College Station, and great grandson Parker Jackson. Ruth is also survived by two of her five sisters, Dean Zinger of Ubly, Michigan, and Mary Joyce Barber of Houston.
A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, The Dallas USO (www.uso.org/dallasfortworth), and Temple Emanu-El in Dallas.
