

Sally Ruth Shaw, 98 of Dallas, passed away on July 18, 2026. She was born on October 18, 1927 in Lockney, Texas to Roy and Edith Knox Patterson. She graduated from Lockney High School and attended Texas Women’s College and Texas Tech.
On June 7, 1947 she married Kelton Shaw and they resided in College Station, Texas until Kelton’s graduation from Texas A&M University. Sally and Kelton returned to Lockney to join the Patterson family business, Patterson Grain Elevator, where Sally was a bookkeeper. They went on to make grain elevators, farming and ranching their life’s work until Kelton passed away in 1995. Sally and Kelton were the parents of two children, Carlton and Amy.
Sally enjoyed gardening and flower arranging. She loved serving in her church, First Baptist Church Lockney, for over 60 years. She taught Sunday school almost continually until 2012 when she moved to Dallas.
Sally was a strong supporter of Christian education at Wayland Baptist University and Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Patricia Whitfill and Richard Patterson, her husband Kelton, and grandson Kelton Jared. She is survived by her two children and their families. Carlton Shaw and his children and grandchildren, Aaron Shaw and son Kingston, and Ashlei Shaw Adney and Kevin, and daughters Sofie and Kamryn. Amy Shaw Jared and Ben, and son David.
Funeral arrangements are with Sparkman/Hillcrest in Dallas. A Graveside Service will be held at Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery, Plainview, TX on Wednesday, July 29 at 10:00am with Dr. Carl Moman presiding.
