

Sandra Quittman Walker of Dallas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and teacher passed away on October 20, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Southampton, PA, Sandy was the daughter of the late William and Alma Quittman.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Clifford Alton Walker; Sons William Mack Walker of Houston, Texas and Daniel Porter Walker and wife Karah of Carrizo Springs Texas; Granddaughters Madison Bailey Walker and Kenedy Taylor Walker; Sister Tina and husband Tom Mitchell of Wrightstown, PA; Brother-in-law Jimmy Walker and wife Karen of Amarillo, Texas, and Mother-in-law Lois Walker of Silverton, Texas. Sandy will also be sadly missed by a large family of aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Sandy earned a BS in Geology from Dickinson College, Carlisle PA. She was employed as a petroleum geologist at Sun Oil Co from 1975 – 1981.
Sandy was Director and teacher at Dallas Cooperative Preschool for 20+ years. She was an active Co-op Mom when her boys were there. With her passion for teaching and her love of children, Sandy enriched the lives of many children and families who were members of the Co-op; she made a positive difference in the lives of everyone she met. Sandy was accused of trying to make rocket-scientists out of her pre-schoolers. To which Sandy replied, “What’s wrong with that?”
Sandy was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
A memorial service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held Monday, October 24 at 10am at John Calvin Presbyterian Church, northwest corner of Midway and Royal, Dallas, Texas.
