

Sandra Baron Wiener passed away on June 21, 2016, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on June 9, 1936, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas, and then attended the University of Texas at Austin and Newcomb College of Tulane University.
Sandra spent over thirty years of her life in Shreveport, Louisiana, raising her four children. While there, she was active in the community, serving on the boards of many organizations, including the Louisiana Foundation for the Blind, GoodWill Industries of North Louisiana, Shreveport Art Guild, and Meadows Museum of Art in Shreveport (a Past President). She was a member of B’Nai Zion Temple in Shreveport and Temple Emanu-El in Dallas.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Baron and Nanette Smith Baron, and her sister, Patricia Baron Ash. She is survived by her brother, Arnold Baron; four children and their spouses, Patricia and Mark Shifke, Jacques and Michele Wiener, Betty and Eric Spomer, and Donald and Kathleen Wiener. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Jonathan Shifke, Caroline Shifke, David Shifke, Katherine Shifke, Katie Wiener, John Wiener, Thomas Wiener, Andrew Spomer, Daniel Spomer, and Sophie Wiener.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Alzheimer’s Association at Alz.org, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 24, 2016 at Temple Emanu-El in Dallas, Texas.
