San Juana began working in the garment industry at the age of seventeen. She worked for several garment manufacturing companies throughout the years into the early 2000s. She retired from Stanley Tools in 2015 after her kidney transplant.
San Juana enjoyed many different things throughout her life. As a young adult she went dancing every weekend, she collected music albums and enjoyed dabbling in interior decorating. Later in life she developed a love for soccer and rarely missed a game when her favorite team, America, was playing. San Juana also enjoyed thrifting and shopping at her favorite store, JCPenney. She was a lover of plants and flowers. She had a green thumb and was constantly doing some type of yardwork. She loved watching boxing and always rooted for Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. San Juana loved spending time with her grandchildren, and she also loved traveling, especially to Mexico. On most weekends you could find her and her husband, Cruz, at her uncle's home in the country spending time with him. She found it very peaceful there. She kept up with Mexican politics as her dream was to eventually move back to Mexico.
She was admired by many for her love of life and her determination to keep fighting a good fight for as long as she did. She always lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed every day like it was her last day. She loved her children and grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.
