Santiago Cortez "Chago" 86 years old, resident of Dallas, TX, died at home on August 31st, 2013 after a long illness. Santiago was born in Dallas on December 30th, 1926 to Alejandro and Petra Cortez. He was the second born of six children.
Santiago is a World War II Army veteran. After serving his country, Santiago married Paula Sanchez in 1947. Their blessed union of 66 years produced eight children, 23 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren.
Santiago was survived by his wife; Paula Cortez, son; Raymond Cortez (Janice), son; Santiago "Jimmy" (Linda) Cortez, daughter; Maria Gaudalupe (Bruce) Hayes, daughter; Maria Isabelle Cortez (Philip), Anita (Rudy) Villareal, daughter; Sylvia (Mike) Soria, daughter; Rosemary Cortez; Mary Cortez, sister; Teresa Hernandez, brother; Alejandro Cortez, brother; Natevida Cortez, sister; Juanita Castro.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister ; Elvira Cortez, son; Andres Cortez and son in law Victor Cortez.
Santiago was loved and respected by all. And will be missed as the Patriarch of the Cortez family,
