Santiago "Jimmy" H. Garcia

Santiago "Jimmy" Garcia 98, passed away September 19, 2013 in Dallas. Jimmy was born July 25, 1915 in Mission, TX to Blas C. and Narcisa Castillo Garcia. A member of St Monica Catholic Church, Jimmy was employed by El Fenix Restaurant for many years. He was very active with charity work in Portrero Mexico. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf when he wasn't spending hours teaching himself computer, engineering and mechanical skills. A very special man, Jimmy will be deeply missed by many. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Irene Martinez Garcia; his daughter, Delores Tristan and grandson, Joe Tristan. Survivors include sons, Jimmy Garcia Jr and wife Carmen, Jessie Garcia Sr and Irene's son, John Michael McBride and wife Lena; sisters, Marie Chantaca and Narcisa Castillo; 3 generations of grandchildren; other family and a host of friends. A Rosary will be held at 10:00 am followed by Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Calvary Hill Mausoleum North Chapel. Interment to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery. A special thank you goes to Linda, Gloria and Johnny for their compassion and care of Jimmy.
