walk hand in hand with her Savior.
Santos was welcomed home by her parents Elmer and Lula Wall, sisters Lilly Cagle and
Maryanne Robledo, son in laws Albert Lopez, Gonzalo Sanchez and grandchildren babygirl
Sanchez, Trini Cantu and great grandson Cruz Citizen.
Santos will be missed by so many but especially by her children Tammy (†Albert) Lopez,
Melissa (†Gonzalo) Sanchez, Michael (Kayla) Wall, Stephanie (Michael) Ross, and adopted
sisters Patti Betancourt and Penny Miller. She was adored by her huge family that included (18)
grandchildren, and (16) great grandchildren. Santos took care of many kids and became known
as the “neighborhood grandma.”
Santos was born in Robstown, Texas and lived most of her life in Dallas, Texas. She worked at
Howard B. Wolf as a seamstress until she was diagnosed early with rheumatoid arthritis. While
facing this challenge ahead she did not stop living life, even for a moment. She was able to
devote herself to taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Santos created
wonderful memories for her family, including Sunday dinners at her house, as well as
Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Her hobbies included going to the casino, Fiesta in San Antonio, listening to tejano music in her
living room and being an amateur botanist.
Shortly before her 79th birthday, Santos was diagnosed with Large B- cell Lymphoma. Despite
this setback, she braved the illness and pushed forward with treatment to beat this “C” word.
Although she didn't get to ring the bell here on earth, we know bells were ringing for her in
Heaven.
Santos’s family would like to thank all of those who expressed their condolences and made
donations of time, food and other blessings for Santos’s immediate and extended family.
