Sara Elizabeth Hudson, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on her 22nd birthday on Monday, August 19, 2019. Sara will forever and always be held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her as an exceptionally beautiful and sweet soul. She was known for her beauty, shining from the inside out, her confidence, cleverness, charm, and loving nature. She was the pride and joy of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her graceful living as a precious person who balanced working hard and having fun.

Sara Hudson was born on August 19, 1997, in Dallas. She graduated from Cushing Academy in Ashburnham and then from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Sara went to work for Schneider Transportation in Dallas as a Logistics Sales Account Executive. In her short time, she was recognized as an outstanding employee.

Among Sara’s many interests and activities, Sara was above all a fly fisherman. Her most cherished memories were the summers she spent in Montana fishing the Madison River with her family. During her time at the University of Arkansas, she was an active member and club officer of the University’s Fly Fishing Club.

She is survived by her parents, Laura Sacco and Andrew Hudson; brother Brandon Sacco; grandmother Eunice Sacco; aunts Eugenia Hudson King and Angela Aragon; uncles Frank-Paul King, James Christian Hudson, Anthony, Philip, and John Sacco; her cousins Jonathan and Christian King, Claire Hudson, Philip Sacco, Claudia Aragon, Giovanna and Gian Carlo Sacco; and her loving Lab-Whippet mix, Beaux. “Sara is a beautiful person who lived a beautiful life and she would not want her life defined by her death, so neither should we. In moments like this, the best way to honor those we love who we see no longer is to bear witness to that love in more powerful ways. Let the pain be a motivator to spread the light and actually push the evil aside. Because of Sara, become people who will spread love to heal the world. Because of Sara, remind everyone you meet that love wins.” by Reverend. Dr. Christopher D. Girata at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Dallas, Texas on Monday, August 26, 2019

It is with the deepest sympathy and sorrow that we at Gearhead Outfitters offer our condolences and support to the Hudson family during this time.
I remember clearly the first day I met Sara. She expressed interest in a sales position we had open at our Dickson Street location, and we sat down for an interview over coffee at a local bodega. I remember this interview, over all interviews, because of how quickly the it quickly turned into easy flowing conversation and banter about everything we love about the outdoors. Sara knew how to hold and cast a fly rod before she knew how to walk; she was an outdoor woman of great caliber. She did her living with a full heart and looked at the world with bright eyes. Her grace, her kindness, and her authenticity is something not commonly encountered in this life. Sara is remembered as being a sweet, hard working, positive, caring, and truly radiant soul. Thank you to the Hudson family for raising such an incredible young woman and sharing her with all the rest of us. We, at Gearhead Outfitters, are all the better for knowing and working along side her. Our hearts are with you.

Dear sweet Sara,
My heart has never hurt quite like this before. As if someone ripped it right out of my chest. Sadness and devastation don’t even come close to touching the surface of how I feel. I’m sickened by the lack of humanity I witnessed this week. I’m forever grateful for the time we had together on this earth. You were one of the first people I interviewed when I was the hiring manager for Banana Republic. Your whit and charming personality was one of a kind. I’ll never forget your little grin and cute laugh that could lighten a room. Thank you for making the world a better place by just being you. 💔

Andrew, please accept the deepest condolences from the Brooks family. This is so tragic, so sad, and so maddening. We just visited a few months ago at our reunion, and it's hard to believe that this has happened to you and your family. My daughter is about the same age, and a lot of the guys in our class have daughters in their 20s, so this hits very close to home. Please know that we are thinking and praying for you and your family, and may Sara rest in peace.

I will never forget the moment we bumped into each other when looking for a roommate for our senior year. Like it was meant to happen. My roommate, my friend; the person who taught me your roommate can be like a sister too. We made amazing memories together, Sara, and I'm never going to forget any of them. Your kindness, your willingness to help, your sassiness, your smile, your whole self. You were an amazing friend and I will be forever thankful to have met you. Rest In Peace mi amor.

To Sara's Family,

I taught Sara Marketing at U of A, and I just fell in love with her. She was quick witted and very engaging in class. She was truly a great student, funny, and always had lots of adoring friends around her all the time. I'm just heartbroken for you. I pray that you find comfort and peace.
