Sarah was born in East Tallassee Alabama on July 14, 1926. She was the oldest child of Eugene and Annie Williams. She grew up in Chattanooga, TN and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She married Jack Young in 1946 and they made their home in Dallas, Texas. They reared their two children, David and Beth, to know and love the Lord. The family was active in many ministries at First Baptist Church, Dallas. Jack and Sarah were long time teachers in the Junior Division under Millie Kohn.
After Jack’s death in 1981, she assumed his role at Texas Bearings, Inc. for ten years. She retired and was married to Claude Brown. They resided in Jupiter Island, Florida. After his death, she made her home with her daughter Beth and son-in-law David Moore.
Sarah’s gracious manner and helpful spirit permeated her life. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as a valiant prayer warrior. She spent many hours interceding in the behalf of others.
She is survived by her sister, Anne Davis and her brother, Tom Williams, her two children, David Young and Beth Moore and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She asked that any memorials be directed to the Evangelistic Department at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth.
