Scherry Lynn Wallace was born in Dallas, Texas on March 25, 1960 to Pearl D. Boleware-Nolley and Joshua Broadnax. This union was blessed with six children Linda, Michael Lee, Rodney, Anthony, Scherry, and Gwenette.
Scherry lived her entire life in Dallas Texas. She attended Dallas schools and graduated from David W. Carter High School in 1979. After graduation Scherry married Howard Wayne Wallace Sr. who proceeded her in Death. Scherry was the mother of three boys, Howard Wayne Wallce Jr., Mark Anthony Wallace, and Eric Lynn Wallace. Scherry was the ultimate parent, dedicating her life to raising, loving and nurturing her children and later on her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “GG”.
Scherry married Bennie Ray Deschone1998.
Scherry was a dedicated and loyal employee for Texas Institute for Surgery from June 2000 through August 2017 when she retired. Her co-workers referred to her as “Sweet Scherry”. Scherry developed long lasting relationship with her co-workers and they remained close even after retirement.
Scherry was loyal her family and friends as well and would go out of her way to help them whenever she could. Scherry Wallace was a Christian and her faith was evident to everyone who knew her. Her favorite scripture was “Psalms 91”, she always kept her bible on her bed opened to “Psalms 31”, and read it daily. She committed herself to praying for her family and friends every single night, naming them each one by one.
Scherry had a very special bond with her mother Pearl Nolley, who proceeded her in death, they shared the same affinity for Psalms 91. She often spoke of how her mother taught her how to be responsible at a very young age. Scherry would often go pay the household bills at her mother’s request. She was so short she would put the money on the counter, and step back so they could see her, the lessons and training she learned from her mother, she continued to practice throughout life.
Scherry was also very close to her “Aunt Fannie”. Scherry and “Aunt Fannie” would hang together and do things like visit the Dallas Arboretum, or ride the train to Ft. Worth just because.
Scherry leaves to cherish her memories her three loving sons, Wayne, Mark, and Eric (Tiara), and her grandchildren whom she loved deeply, Christiana, Brandi, Angelina, Christopher, Jayden, and Tiana.
Her brothers Rodney Kenneth Broadnax, Anthony Dennis Broadnax, and Michael Lee Broadnax. Her sisters Linda Bickems, and Gwenette Giddens (Charles), and her Sister-in-Law whom she referred to as “Sister”, Gwendolyn Broadnax. Scherry will be missed dearly and our hearts are broken to see her go. Scherry often spoke of her mother and stated how much she missed her, and although she is no longer here with us she is now in the presence of God, and she is united again with her dear that mother.
Scherry came from a big family and leaves to host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews, and friends to cherish her memories.
