With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon J. Crawford, who left this world peacefully on July 29th, 2025 at the age of 72.
Born February 18th, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky to Elizabeth and Marion Amos, Sharon lived a life marked by love, generosity, and strength. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Roger Crawford, her brother David Amos, and daughter Cathy Whattam. She is survived by her stepmother, Marianne Dusing; sisters, Susie Amos Hopkins, Gina Amos, and Jennifer Amos Taylor and her husband, James; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Jaclyn Playford; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Jan and James Beebe, Carolyn and Michael McBee, Kelly Crawford, and Erin Whattam; her grandchildren, Samantha Playford, Hannah Playford, Crawford Beebe, Houston Beebe, Kortney Beebe Thaggard, Catherine Butler and her husband David, Delaney McBee, Madison Doyle, and Harrison Doyle; a great-grandson Caleb Butler; and her nieces and nephews. As the true matriarch of her family, a successful business owner, and faithful friend - her door, and her heart, were always open.
She took great pride running her own business, built through years of hard work and determination, cultivating deep relationships along the way. A fearless leader, Sharon saw possibilities where others saw limitations.
She was a devoted mother to her five children, a beloved grandmother to eight, and a doting great-grandmother to one. She shared a deeply special bond with her sisters; their closeness was a constant source of strength and laughter. She would do anything for her family and friends, often putting others' needs before her own.
She was a loving wife to her late husband, Roger, with whom she shared 21 beautiful years of marriage. Their love was strong and enduring, and her memory of him never faded.
In addition to her devotion to loved ones, Sharon had a heart for service. She volunteered alongside her close friends at the Stew Pot Homeless Shelter, giving her time and compassion to those in need. Her kindness extended far beyond her own circle and left a lasting impact in the community.
A world traveler, she loved adventure - from exploring the south of Spain to girls' trips in Vegas. In the summer, she could be found at the lake, sharing stories on the porch or having fun on the water, surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors.
Sharon touched so many lives with her warmth, humor, and fierce devotion. Her legacy will live on in the family she built, the friendships she cherished, and the countless lives she impacted. She was the heart and soul of her family - her guidance, warmth, and voice of reason will be missed beyond measure.
