Sharon Louise Slatten was born in Columbus, OH, on March 7, 1949 and passed away in Grapevine, TX on February 8, 2015. Sharon is loved and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She loved to go out to eat, especially to Cracker Barrel. Among her keepsakes, one can find Sharon’s scrapbooks which hold many special moments and cherished memories from her life. As well as scrapbooking, she also loved to read and travel. She just loved sightseeing and visiting places; one could say she’d go anywhere the wind would take her. Sharon had a very big heart for animals, especially for those in need of a gentle, loving hand. She would never turn anyone in need away; instead, she would welcome them with open arms to her home. Sharon was a very special and kind hearted woman. Sharon is survived by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Slatten; sons, Adam Van Horn and Will Slatten; godsons, Josh Hazard and Michael Karl; brother, Jerald "Jerry" Smith and wife Linda; sisters, Charlene Linton (Wendell), Kathleen Smith and Debborrah Leapley (David); and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held in her honor at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill Funeral Home on February 17, 2015 at 2:00PM.
