Shirley Constance Bell, 84, went to be with her Lord on July 18, 2019 in Forney, Texas. She was born on January 13, 1935 in Albany, Oklahoma to Ben O. Hunt and Connie Neely. Shirley was raised in Grayson County and graduated from Sherman High School in 1953 before moving to Dallas.
She married Mervil Bell in 1958, they moved to Mesquite and the couple had two children. Shirley was a mother and homemaker until 1983 then became an Administrative Assistant at Great American Reserve where she worked for more than 9 years. Relocating to Forney in 1994, she moved her membership to FBC Forney and has been a faithful servant.
In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed reading, having beautiful flowers, cooking, traveling, road trips, but most of all she loved spending time with family and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, an amazing cook, her great sense of humor, her intelligence, and witty conversations. She was compassionate, big hearted and a very giving person who was always self sacrificing putting everyone before herself.
Shirley is preceded in death by her mother, Connie Scott; father Ben Hunt, step father Claudell Scott; grandmother, Josephine Garth and grandfather, Joe Neely. She is survived by her loving husband, Mervil Bell; son, Keith Bell and wife, Annette; daughter, Karla Bowsher and husband, Stacy; two granddaughters, Kate Keierleber and husband, Eric and Sarah Flax and husband, Landon; three great-grandsons, Cole, Case and Cade Keierleber and two great-granddaughters, Collins and Palmer Flax, dear friend Stacey White and many numerous relatives and friends.
