

Shirley Ann Chapman was born on March 22, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late John Lester Murray, Sr. and Daisy Mae Murray. Shirley was the youngest of 7 siblings and lost her mother at an early age. Her and her siblings was raised by their great-grandmother Martha Moss of Alabama. They later moved to New Orleans, Louisiana and was raised by their great-great aunt Lucinda Moss.
Shirley united in matrimony to Calvin Chapman, Sr. and moved to Dallas, Texas. To this union 3 children Calvin, Jr., Byron and Chelsea. She received her Certificate of High School Equivalency from the State of Texas in 1979. Shirley worked in the Hospitality Industry and for the City of Dallas before receiving her Real Estate License where she became one of the Top Producers. She became a member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in 1977 under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Evans and Dr. Martin Hawkins. She was an active member and was a servant of many ministries: Hospitality, Missions, Evangelism and Prayer Ministry. She was a partner with the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and was an advocate for Israel.
Preceding her in death are two brothers, John Lester Murray, Jr. and Willie James Murray; two sisters, Ada Jean Stewart and Pothan Smith; son, Calvin Chapman, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories; son, Byron Chapman; daughter, Chelsea (Jason) Lang; daughter-in-law Ephranie Chapman; sisters, Lucinda Mitchell and Juanita Frazier; grandsons; Kendrick, Joshua, Alvin and Delvin; granddaughters, Antoinette, Nycole, Cristalla and Chyna; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She fought a good fight, she finished her course and she kept the faith.
