

Shirley Jean Stone Honeycutt transitioned to her heavenly home on April 12, 2026. Shirley was born on October 13, 1936, in Spearsville, Louisiana, to Marie Rockett and Clarence Stone. She was the youngest of four sisters.
Shirley met her husband, Jesse D. Honeycutt (known as “J” to all family and friends), while they were employed at the same oil and gas company in Shreveport, Louisiana. They married on September 6, 1960, and moved to Dallas in 1963. Shirley and J enjoyed traveling, including many trips to Mexico and Wyoming. After J passed on August 6, 1990, Shirley continued to reside in Dallas until her death.
After J’s death, Shirley returned to the workforce, primarily working in retail sales until she retired from her last place of employment, Jos. A. Bank. Shirley continued her love of travel through the Dan Dipert Tour Company, visiting Branson, Missouri; the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee; and North Carolina.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, J; her parents, Clarence Stone and Marie Rockett; her sister, Madelyn Crain; and her nephew, Bobby Walton.
She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Walton and Floy Rea. Known as Aunt Jean, she is also survived by her nieces, Sharon (Dale, deceased) Liner; Jan (Ski) Wawrzyniak; Patricia (Adrian) Franklin; Connie Parker; and her nephew, Larry (Barbara) Crain, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews, and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are provided by Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Saturday, April 18, at 1:00 p.m.
