

Shirley June Marble, a beloved mother, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on December 21, 2023, in Dallas, TX. She was born on October 14, 1934, in Ft. Worth, TX to parents Leslie O and Francis Wells Burke. Shirley grew up in Texas, attending Woodrow Wilson High School and graduating in 1952.
Shirley's professional journey was marked by early years at Honeywell in Dallas until moving to Athens, TX in 1972 where began working for the family business, Arctic Supply Inc. After her divorce in 1981, she returned to Dallas and resumed her career with Honeywell until her retirement. Her work ethic, intelligence, and dedication were admired by all who knew her.
Shirley's personal life was filled with love and dedication to her family. She was married to William Arthur Marble until 1981, and together they had three children: Leslie, Steve, and Scott. As a mother, she was immensely supportive, nurturing, and proud, actively involved in the lives of her children.
Shirley had a zest for life and a passion for companionship. In her final year, while residing at Autumn Leaves in Dallas, she cultivated a vibrant circle of friends and acquaintances, enriching her days with joy and laughter, a testament to her warm spirit that remained undimmed until her last moments.
Shirley is survived by her devoted daughter Leslie of Dallas, her son Scott of New York, NY, her treasured grandchild Lukas Fairbanks Marble of Aspen, CO, and her close cousin Cecil Smith of Ft. Worth. She carried with her cherished memories of her son Steve, who sadly preceded her in death, holding close the love and moments they shared. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her.
The family respectfully requests privacy during this time and will hold a private celebration of life to honor the wonderful woman Shirley was. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and love endures through her family and the many lives she touched.
