Shirley A Shields

On Saturday February 10th, 2018, Shirley Ann Shields was surrounded by immediate family who watched a woman they love go on home at the ”young” age of 64. After many months of pain and suffering, she went to a place where that doesn’t exist. Shirley adopted a son, Michael, when he was born in September of 1989 where she said “He’s my world.” That showed in everything she did and how she treated everyone. Shirley began her career with United Elchem in 1977 to 2005. After spending 28 years there, she retired to be home with her son more.

Shirley was born in Ellinwood, KS to Charles Dixon and Margaret Foulk Dixon on January 3rd, 1954.

Shirley is survived by her son, Michael Shields; her “sester” JoAnn Higdon and Andy Higdon; her Goddaughter, Billye Joyce Davis; Godson Ronnie Davis; Cousins Arlene Dixon Williams, Dorothy Hale, Oakla Dixon, Mariam Drewel, Jimmy Addington, Sandra Houk, Dino Dixon, Gladys Dixon, Buth Golhson, Linda Miller, Donna Miller, Nancy Tidwell, and Paula Miller. There are several unnamed Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her Mother, Margaret Foulk Dixon; Father Charles Dixon; Brother Ben Leroy Coughenour; Cousin Dianne Dixon; Aunt Martha Dixon, Uncle Freddie Dixon, Uncle Junior Dixon, Uncle Billy Barnell, and Uncle Marvin Dixon. There are several unnamed Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
