KNOPF, Sidney Louis, 89, of Dallas, Texas, died peacefully the evening of Monday, May 6, 2013. Born in Nisko, Poland, son of Wolf and Chaya (Fenichel), he and his loving wife, Sylvia (Lichtman), survived the Holocaust and immigrated to Texas in 1949. He was preceded in death by his grandson Trevor Morton. He is survived by his wife, daughters Lillian Knopf and Hedy Meltzer, son-in-law Bruce Meltzer, and grandchildren Josh Morton, Marisa Morton (Jared Holden), Michael Meltzer, and Julie Meltzer. Services at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel, 2:00pm Wednesday, May 8. Shiva at the home of Hedy and Bruce. In lieu of flowers, kindly make contributions to Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance. May his memory be a blessing.
