Sonia Hurtado

Sonia Hurtado of Dallas, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at the age of 60 on June 19, 2024. She was born on August 6, 1963 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Reynaldo Garcia and Maria Jaramillo. She is survived by her three children, Tony, Andrew and Amanda, whom she loved dearly. Sonia was a devoted grandmother who adored her grandchildren and always made sure they felt loved and cherished.

Sonia was known for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering faith in God. She was a pillar of strength for her family and friends, always offering support and guidance in times of need. Sonia lived each day to the fullest, finding joy in simple moments and creating lasting memories with those she held dear.

As a mother, Sonia was unparalleled in her love and dedication. She worked tirelessly to provide for her children, putting their needs above her own and instilling in them values of hard work, perseverance, and unwavering love. Her selflessness and sacrifice will forever be remembered and cherished by those who knew her.

Sonia's impact on those around her was immeasurable, and her presence will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and faith that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was truly loved and cherished by all who were blessed to have her in their lives.

Sonia is survived by her children Tony Hurtado, Andrew Hurtado (wife Anita), Amanda Hurtado (fiance Raul Castro); sister Silvia Martinez, brother Raymond Garcia, sister Susie Robles (husband Salvador); grandchildren Antonio “Chubbs” Hurtado Jr., Alex Hurtado, Marcus Hurtado, Ava Hurtado, Jasen Mendoza, Axton Hurtado; and her many nephews and neices. Sonia is preceded in death by her parents Reynaldo Garcia and Maria Jaramillo, Reynaldo Garcia, Jr., and Rene “Randy” Garcia.

Visitation and Rosary will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 pm(rosary service will begin at 6:00 pm) at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L. Thornton Fwy., Dallas, Texas 75232.

A Mass will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 am at St. Michael Archangel Catholic Church, 2910 Corn Valley Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052.

Funeral and Burial will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 12:00-1:00 pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 R.L. Thornton Frwy., Dallas, Texas 75232.
