Stanley Ellis Kaye, 80, of Dallas passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on Oct. 15, 1939, in Dallas and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1957. After high school, Stanley served in the United States Army for three years, mostly in Landstuhl, Germany, serving as an MP and working in a helicopter evacuation unit.
On May 20, 1962, Stanley married the love of his life, Caroline Rosenbloom. They celebrated 57 years together. There was nothing that Stanley loved more than his family. He is survived by his loving wife Caroline; their children, Rebecca (RK) Kaye and her partner Jenny Alford of Dallas, Stephen and Valerie Kaye of Fort Worth, and Michael and Vickie Kaye of McKinney; his four grandchildren, Dorie, Brian, Jessica, and Alexis Kaye; and lots of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Rachel Kaye, and “sister” Madelyn Wolfe.
Stanley was a jewelry salesman, and a darn good one, for 47 years. He had a passion for baseball, news, politics, old westerns, and good conversations. He told good and bad jokes, and loved to laugh.
A private graveside service for the family will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, followed by a memorial service at noon Tuesday in the Stern Chapel at Temple Emanu-El. Honorary pallbearers include Jeff Berg, Dr. Chris Clark, Allen Luterman, Barry Martin, Kenneth Sargent, Russell Silverstein, and Larry Weinstein.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Donald J. Grossfeld Memorial Fund through the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation; the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; and the Temple Emanu-El Clergy Good Works Fund.
The family wants to gratefully acknowledge the wonderful caregivers at Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospital in Plano and the T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
