I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of  my dear classmate, Stephanie.  She was such a sweet person.  I am so glad I had the opportunity to know her. Stephanie girl, when i met you from day one at Dallas City Hall we vibed really well. You were filled with so much enthusiasm and energy. I used to say to myself this woman is so full of soul and energy. :-) When you and l would cross paths in the hallway, ladies' room, department events or I made a quick visit to your office our conversations were always full of laughter and the appreciation to just run into each other and catch up.  At our most recent department retreat, we shared some deep conversations that kept us engaged with each other and not really focusing on why we were at the retreat. lol Who knew I would be writing this a week or so later. God only knows and has his reasons! Stephanie you will be dearly missed. RIH Stephanie Easter, my chitter chat buddy!

Stef- girl, I am going to really miss you.  I’m going to miss the random text messages and emails from work.   I will cherish the memories we have shared over the years of our 37 year friendship.  One thing I’m glad we adopted was to always say, “I love you friend” after every interaction.  No matter the time or state between us, we always picked up where we left off.  Rest well my friend- fly high.  Until we meet again, I love you friend.

I met Stephanie just weeks ago. She had an infectious smile and such a bright spirit. She gave us great encouraging words as Rufus and I are getting married, ironically on her and Dwight's wedding anniversary. Rufus had nothing but good things to say about Stephanie as him, Dwight, and Stephanie talked and laughed for hours, going down memory lane, so I was really looking forward to getting to know her. From only spending a few hours with her, she left a great impression. I can only imagine the mark and memories she leaves with others who knew her. We are expressing our deepest condolences to Dwight, her husband and loving life partner, and her children. Lean on God as your biggest comforter during this time knowing she is with Him. We are keeping you in our prayers.

Stephanie and I were at work; she was always great to visit with, and on this day, she was rocking a new hairdo, so we snapped a selfie. I remember her always asking about my family, weekends, what my little one was up to. She would share what gatherings she had planned or fun trips, but mostly, she just loved to spend her weekends relaxing and being with family.

I was pregnant with my daughter when I started working for the City of Dallas three years ago, and Stephanie was an essential member of my team. Stephanie would bring Christmas and birthday gifts for her and visit whenever I brought her up to City Hall. She always said, "Tell your daughter she has an auntie here at City Hall."  This is one of the PJ outfits and slippers Stephanie gifted her for Christmas.  I would gift Stephanie little Polaroid pictures of Jaina in her outfits, and she would hang the photos up at her desk.

At her desk at work, Stephanie's dedication inspired me as I prepared a presentation for a conference on workforce management, and I had to give a shoutout to her. Nothing ever held her back for long; she would say, "We'll keep it moving," and she consistently found the solutions she needed to ensure the work kept flowing. Solution-oriented, she asked plenty of questions and always took pride in her work. Helping people is in her heart, reflecting her true public servant spirit.

Stephanie, along with her team members Melissa Munoz and Sheila Delgado, attended an employee retreat where Sheila handed out awards. Although Stephanie and Melissa were surprised, they gracefully accepted their awards with smiles. They were named "The Newest Team on the Block" and received outstanding accolades for their excellent teamwork.

Stephanie, you and I are name twins and had become great friends in such a short time.  I am in disbelief because I had just been with you on Thursday.  I wish we would have had more time together, but because I saw your heart and spirit, I know you are in a better place than all you left behind. I am sincerely going to miss you my fashionista sista! Praying that your family can find a peace that surpasses understanding because this is a hard one to understand. Sending wishes of comfort to the entire family.

I want to send my deepest condolences to the Easter-Jones family during this difficult time. I’ve known the Easters since I was a child, and they’ve always felt like extended family to me. I met Ms. Stephanie about four years ago, and from the very beginning, she was more than just a coworker—she was a true blessing.

Down to earth, kind, and full of light, Stephanie brought warmth and positivity into the office every single day. Her presence will truly be missed, not just as a teammate, but as a friend and someone who felt like family.
