Steve was born in Huntsville, TX to Oran Oliver Richardson and Alice McKinley Hard. He grew up in Vidor, TX and graduated from Vidor High School, then attended Lamar State College (now Lamar University).
Steve and Kay Bosley married in 1963. In 1966, he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and became a Ground Radio Repairman, serving in the Philippines. He was a Sargeant when he was discharged in 1970. After his discharge, he began working for Texas Instruments and remained with them his entire career, until his retirement in 2007. He and Kay lived in Dallas, TX for almost 50 years.
Steve passed away at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kay, by his parents and his two brothers, Robert Michael and John McKinley Richardson. He is survived by his sister, Mary Alice Schmidt, three nephews – Jason Richardson, and Adam and Eric Schmidt, and several grand-nieces.
Steve was a gentle giant.
He never met a stranger, always came early, stayed late,
and was always more than willing to help.
