I will miss your laugh and how we make fun of each other’s imperfections. What I will remember most is your positiveness towards everything and everyone around you. Thank you for teaching me that. My regret is that not being able to tell you in person. Until we see each other again my friend.

Steve, we had so many fun times together after high school. Lots of nights spent at Cowboys dancing. I am still in shock to hear of your passing. We lost touch over the past years but you will always hold a special place in my heart, Until we meet again....

I cherish all the great times you and I had during highschool and college! You were always smiling and never in a bad mood. We would drive around in our hot rods together and have the times of our lives. I am sorry that we did not keep in touch over the years but you were a fantastic friend to me and I will never forget the awesome times that we had and they cannot ever be replaced.
Rest in Peace with God as I know you are, and you will be sorely missed in my heart!

To the Smithhart family,

I send my deepest condolences. I've worked with Steve at SSG for the last 4 years and he was one of the sweetest persons that I had ever met. He was always so free-hearted and giving. I will always cherish being able to know such an awesome guy.

Steve (& Ken) are literally my brothers from another mother. We spent many Summers together with our Dad @ the Deer lease, S. Padre island and at lake Texoma making lifelong memories.
I recall Steve could “cut the rug” quite well @ Cowboys nightclub near White Rock Lake and could also roll his Stetson like a true showman. One year we also was in the same bowling league (on the same team). He called me Spideyman I believe because of my unusual stance.
Steve was also a valuable resource during the earlier years of personal computers, fixing our bugs & viruses.
Each birthday, we’d text each other the same memories we shared when working at our Dad’s lumberyard & Steel company back in the late 70’s & early 80’s when the yard foreman would announce over the PA, “Steve Smiffhawt, come to da yaad office “. I’m going to miss my bro a lot.

Debbie and I have only known Steve for the past 15 years. Steve was a very kind and generous person, as well as a good friend who did not mind beating us in bowling, golf, cards, yatzee and being a Jimmy Johnson fan even NASCAR . You could always count on Steve to help out and in turn we would do the same for him.. We had some good times joking with each other and discovering new to us music.
Steve has always been our IT guy we would call when we have some kind of computer issue.
Anyone who dealt with Broadband Specialist in past will remember Steve.

Steve leaving us so soon is a shock and grief to all.. Steve will be greatly missed.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this photo sums up our friendship. You might be gone but will never be forgotten. Our office will never be the same. Love you and miss you Steve.

For some of us, no farewell words were spoken, no time to really say goodbye,
you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.

While Steve may have worked for me, our relationship was more of a friendship than a co-worker. Without question, Steve was always placing others and their needs ahead of his own. His work ethic, professionalism, positive impact to morale and dedication to his fellow family members here at Verizon was the benchmark for everyone to aspire to. I will forever miss his smiling face and positive greeting whenever I saw him. Steve was certainly one of a kind and the positive impact he left on all us will remain forever. Steve, we love you and will miss you. Thank you for the outstanding friendship, Stuart
