What an awesome tribute to Steven, he was definitely one of a kind and as evidenced in the tribute he loved his family.  

I was fortunate enough to work with Steven at Parkland for many years, although in a different department of Pathology, he was my go to for help when needed and always willing to go the extra mile to help out.  

He loved life and it showed, always witty, always willing to go the distance, and he never seemed to meet a stranger. I loved seeing his many posts of trips with family and coworkers and friends, he had a wonderful life.  

We shared a love for baking and shared some recipes even after I left Parkland.  I will miss those banana pudding, German chocolate cake, and food prep pics he made famous but know he is now one of the great bakers in the heavens.  

Steven will be missed by many but he left so many great memories for us all. Rest in peace my friend.

I remember your smiling face welcoming  all of us in the lab in the morning. I'm very heartbroken to have heard of your passing. It still seems so surreal to us.

Steve my dear friend, my brother, nothing could have prepared me for this moment.  I am sad to my bones that you are gone. Best friends are special people in life, they are people you think about when you make plans, they are the first people you go to when you need someone to talk to. You will phone them up just to talk about nothing and you my friend you were all that to me. I will miss those endless conversations. I want to thank you for being my best friend. A friend like you is never truly gone.  Mi amigo of laughs walking the path of life alone will be very hard.  Your kindness changed my existence. Thank you so much Steven for being mi mejor amigo!!! Will always love you my friend. 

Steven, I can't remember a time when you never had a smile on your face and were laughing about something.  My time at Parkland wasnt that long but I am so glad we became friends and that we kept in touch from time to time. You were such a great guy. I hope heaven involves all the Madonna concerts you want to watch. Your sweet spirit was infectious. RIP and soar with the angels my friend! 

Steven you raised me, you held me when I cried, you encouraged me to be strong like our mother and showed me that it is ok to fail, but getting back up is more important. You are my confidant, my best friend, my brother, my father, my teacher,  my inspiration and my motivation. You raised me to be strong and quick witted. You taught me to fight back but take the high road in certain situations. You were so proud of me for finishing school and continuing on with my education. You encouraged my hobbies and helped me get better at them. You loved your family so much and we love you more than you knew. When I was little you did my hair and as I grew up you taught me how to make rice and let me help you cook. I love and miss you so much and I will forever continue to make you proud. You are my best friend and will forever be in my heart.

Steven was always helpful and willing to go above and beyond.  He never appeared hurried or stressed and served the Parkland patients well with his excellent phlebotomy skills.   I noticed that Steven and I shared the same birthday and I wish I had known that we shared that common bond.  I know he will be missed terribly by his own family and the Parkland family. May the memories  of his goodness and kindness provide comfort and peace during this time.

Steven, you will be missed!!  What can I say that hasn't already been said about our beloved Steven.  His laughter and smile could light up a room.   Days without you will no doubt be hard, but the wonderful memories of you will last for an eternity.  Thank you for being a great guy!

I went to high school with Steven, and he was one of my best friends. Although we were states away, I am grateful we kept in touch all these years. I will always have fun loving memories of Steven.  Good-bye my dear friend.  Your Begonia.

RIP my dear friend and my condolences to the family. Heaven has gained a wonderful angel.  Steven had  the most beautiful soul.   He will be missed but not forgotten. 

I have so many good memories of my Uncle Steven, he has been in my life since I was born. Without him I would have been homeless, in jail or worse. He always had my back, he was there for me in many times of need. He always put the family FIRST before himself. His facial expressions were as good as his cooking 😌. He had a great sense of humor omg just thinking about it now 😆. A month ago I had a 1-2hr conversation with just Steven and I, and we reminisced all the good times we had and shared a bunch of laughs together and I got to thank him for everything he had done for me 🥺. I love you SO MUCH Uncle Steven. Rest in Heaven.....

The saying goes “it takes a village” to raise a child... Steven was always in my village. He knew me since I was 5 years old. He literally cared and watched after me throughout the years. He made sure during countless sleepovers throughout the years that Christine and I were safe, having fun, and well fed. I regret not learning more of his recipes. I never thought that our time together would be cut off so short. Every time I stop to think about the fact that he won’t be there the next time I go to Texas I burst into tears. Steven was my family, an adopted “Tio”. He always loved me and was the pillar of his family without ever asking for anything in return. Vera, Christine, Gabriel, and Rudy, I am in pain with you. I am so sorry this is happening to y’all. I love you all so much. You are my family. Heaven stole our chef. May he Rest In Peace . ❤️❤️❤️

I am still trying to figure out how to process the thought... that you're gone. I want to go back to those summer evenings chilling by the pool and having our talks. I want to discuss our love of Madonna.  You left an impression on my heart and there you'll stay. I'll miss you always. Rest in peace my dear sweet friend.

Sadly I’m writing out my condolences on my cousin Steven. Never imagine I would be doing this one day. So full of life and love. As I looked at the photos on here my heart was warmed and torn at the same time. Steven was extremely loved. I know everyone is hurting during this time. 
I will always remember how loving he was. Always had a smile on his face and a very warm hug for anyone anywhere. I ran into him at the mall and he would scoop me up in a bear hug. The best feeling ever. 
He was the rock in my eyes for his family. Taking care of his mom and his sister.  I’m so deeply sorry. I wish I had a photo to share but sadly I don’t. Please let your loved ones know your thinking about them before it’s too late. Love you Steven 

This is the last picture I ever took of us. It was in the summer probably July 2020. It was hot as heck this day and Parkland had the Paletero giving out paletas for the employees and I remember I took 5 haha. The Pandemic really put a damper on stuff but this day was a good day! We enjoyed our paletas, yours was mango and mine was nuez. We people watched from the window and took pictures and recorded Debra saying we were gonna tell her boss she wasn’t doing anything and that there were patients waiting to be registered! Haha we
We’re always messing with Debra but she knew we loved her. Then we got brain freezes (karma) haha. I screamed and ran to the break room to drink warm water and I could hear you yelling from your desk saying “that’s what you get cabrona, for being mean to Debra”. 

This was one of the many spreads we had at work back in 2019. Spreads were something we all looked forward to having because, we knew you were going to whip something amazing in the kitchen! This day I remember we were all laughing so much and Sebastian was like “let’s take a picture.” I remember we took like 3 because I didn’t like how I looked in the others haha. This day the food was amazing and as per usual we were all fighting for seconds of your banana pudding. Aarons fat self had like 2 servings and I ended up giving you mine because their was no more. Days like this day really make me miss our old crew, a time where there was no pandemic, no quarantine, no social distancing, no covid. Back when life was normal! Work has been so hard without you. Yesterday, I had a really bad day at work and I caught myself trying to call you to vent and then it hit me.. I miss you Steven. Your parkland fam misses you. 

Steven...we miss you crazy.  You were there for so many of my first, as you were and are my mom's best friend ( Michelle).  You have done my hair and makeup for banquets,  always told the truth when we looked a hot mess, and always smiled, thus putting it on ours.  You were so open and inviting, yet one of the most private people ever.  My mom loved everything about you, and I know I always got excited when I knew you'd be around.  From my early teens to my 30s..you've been there.  You helped my mom go through sooooo much, even when you were going through your own...you are so commended.  I remember going to Parkland and walking into doors, I probably should not have, but you vouched for me.  Your banana pudding was to cherish..I wish you would have given me the recipe..you said you would never give it away..dang it right again. My mom told us you were sick on Xmas eve and to pray for you like crazy, and to keep it to ourselves.  We prayed like crazy, because we love you, couldn't stand the idea of not having you, not for only your family, but my mom, and the rest of your friend family.  You are crazy, fun, and the best a person could wish for in a lifetime. You were my mom's  Steven, and I am sorry I am selfish because we loved you so darn much. You were our family. I love you Steven.  I know you'll  have heaven laughing, being you, and looking down and giving memories to cherish and keep moving on. Love you!

I remember when we was living in the apartment complex a long time ago me, Steve@paul we were always hangout on the weekend by the pool having fun joking around going to the Mall almost got in trouble there he was a big Madonna fan we just had fun when we got together u will be miss brother 

Words can not express how my heart feels. I've missed Steven so much throughout the years and now I will never get to tell him that in person.I do have nothing but great and funny memories of him. I will always have him in my heart. He was my best friend in high school and beyond. Vera you were his rock and always said so! Love you guys.
