Steven Villanueva, 61, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer on March 22, 2023. Steven, Steve, or Stevie as he was known to many, was born on September 21, 1961, in Oak Cliff, Texas.
Steve worked for the past 13 years at Phoenix I Restoration and Construction as one of their longest tenured employees. Steve was a proud husband, provider, and was never hesitant to lend a helping hand to those who needed his help or his tools. Steve loved fishing, riding his bike, and the Dallas Cowboys.
Steve was close to his family and ever present at Sunday gatherings at his mother’s house, where he could be found eating his mother’s cooking, spending time with his siblings, and watching the Cowboys.
Steve is preceded in death by his father Gilbert and his brothers Gilbert Jr., Abel (Bubba), Paul, and (infant) Ricky. He is survived by his mother Oralia, wife Kim, children Stevie Jr. and wife Jennifer, Steffani, Staci (Scout), and Angel. Steve is survived by his siblings Sammy & wife Tommie, David, and Judy, as well as his grandchildren Aaron, Laila, Lana, Ryker, and Phoenix.
Steve is survived by his friends and extended family, including countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as his Phoenix I family.
Steve’s sense of humor and ability to make light of any situation kept us laughing and will be missed by us all. We will forever remember his loud belting laugh, sarcastic wit, and Dad jokes.
A special thanks to Dr. Morales, Audra, and the UT Southwestern 8th floor Orange doctors, nurses and staff.
