Susie Mae Batson

Susie Mae Batson passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 in Mesquite, TX. She was born on November 10, 1930 in Dallas, TX to Burt and Mae Maxwell. Susie was raised in Balch Springs, TX and attended/graduated from Mesquite High School.

Susie married the love of her life Jessie L Goins, who she met when she was 14 years old. He was from Oklahoma, TX. In the 32 years of marriage, they lived a life centered around family, faith, and deep devotion to one another until he passed away in 1981. Together they had 3 children, two boys and a girl, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Susie later married her second husband, Gerald Batson. They were married for 30 years and shared a life together in Dallas,TX and Venus, TX, until he passed away in 2017. She had 5 step children from this marriage and loved them like her own.

Susie was an amazing strong woman, devoted wife and mother. She was fond of the color red, loved roses, and was dedicated to those around her. She was known as a sweet woman, and touched the lives of everyone she came into contact with. She loved dancing, particularly western dancing, and was a dachshund mom throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and holiday traditions. Susie also loved cooking and baking, and you could always find her cooking up something in the kitchen for her friends and family. She will be dearly missed by her family and all of those who got a chance to be part of her life.

She is survived by: daughter Sharon Williams, and her two kids Joey Williams and Stefanie Ross, along with her husband Don Ross; her son Gary Goins, his wife Melanie Goins, and their two kids, Jessica and Brooke Goins; her other son, who is deceased, Larry Goins, his two kids Shanda Refro Hancock, along with her husband Jeff Hancock, and Michael Goins, along with his wife Denise Goins and many other loving family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228 on September 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
