

Mother Susie Mae Flucas was born on Saturday, April 12th, 1941, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the union of Lillie Pearl and M.C. Ester. She was the third child of six siblings.
Susie was a God-fearing, thoughtful, caring, funny, down-to-earth, classy, no-nonsense woman of God. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was Holy Ghost filled under the leadership of Bishop N.L. Hinton at (First Apostolic Assembly (FAA) of Dallas, TX). She was also a faithful member at both Greater Faith Apostolic Church, and ended her church fellowship journey as a member of Zion Apostolic Temple under the leadership of Bishop Leon Parker.
Susie attended Booker T. Washington High School in the Caddo Parrish School District and participated in the drill team. Education was extremely important to her, and something that she impressed upon her immediate family to value. She attended both business and medical school, earning both Business and Medical Assistant Certificates. During her professional career, she worked for the Dallas VA Medical Center for over thirteen years in several positions, retiring as an Admissions Intake Specialist.
Mother Flucas departed this earthly life Saturday morning, February 17th, 2024. Susie is preceded in death by her spouse, Lee Gene Flucas; her son, Roderick D. “Beaver” Lindsey; her parents, Lillie Pearl “Madea” and M.C. Ester; maternal grandparents, Susie B. and Jake Ester; and paternal grandparents, Mary & Alex Brown; brothers, M.C. Ester Jr., Alonzo “Dick” Ester Sr. and Joseph “Jack” Wright.
Susie leaves to treasure in her memory her beloved children, Gerald J. “Jerry” Lindsey and Kaiesha L. ”Punkin” Flucas; grandchildren, Damere Reawn “Sunshine” Flucas-Shaw, Shateria C. “Tera” Lindsey, Ieshia McGhee, Beonka Jackson; two sisters, Bernice Williams (Palmdale, CA) and Cherry Granville (Mes- quite, TX); and a host of loving nieces, nephews (Alonzo “Pimp” Ester Jr., Los Angeles, CA);
cousins, in-laws and friends.
Susie was a blessing to everyone that knew her. 2nd Corinthians says,
“To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.” Although she has transitioned, the family is confident that she is with our heavenly Father Jesus Christ & will always be loved, cherished, and remembered.
“For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight,I have finished my course. I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:6-7
