

Betty is survived by her two children, Larry (Charlene) Boatright of Dallas, TX and Judy (Carey) Blake of Richardson, TX; five grandchildren Greg (Christina) Boatright, Amy (Ken) Patterson, Ginger McAnally. Jason (Caroline) Fagan and Corey (Jenny) Fagan; fourteen great grandchildren; and brother John Yocham. She is preceeded in death by husband John H. Boatright, sister Doris James, and brother Elvis Yocham.
Betty was born January 5, 1923 in Blum, TX to Terry and Leah Yocham. She grew up in Oseola, TX on her family farm. She graduated from Itasca High School. She married John H. Boatright on March 17, 1945 and they were married for 42 years. Betty worked at Commercial National Bank in the Loan Department for 20 years and retired at the age of 71.
Mema was extremely loving, caring, giving, and loved to serve others. She loved having her family around and preparing them meals, especially Sunday lunches and holiday feasts. Her hobbies included playing dominos and cards with friends. Betty also enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys, and Hallmark movies.
Betty was a member of Highland Oaks Church of Christ where she was a member of the ‘39ERS’ and participated in religious, recreational, social, and civic activities throughout the years. She also helped with Helping Hearts.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home 10501 Garland Rd., Dallas, TX 75218. The family will receive visitors prior to the service at 1:00 PM.
