

Sylvia Gail Raulston Cary, 76, departed her earthly home to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in her new eternal heavenly home on Thursday, March 19, 2026, after battling a courageous war against breast cancer.
Sylvia was a graduate of L.D. Bell High School where she was a member of the pep squad. She also completed the American Airlines Flight Attendant Training Program. Sylvia was a Flight Attendant with American Airlines for 40 years. Her husband, George Cary, is a retired pilot. Sylvia and George met while working at American Airlines.
Sylvia was born in Dallas, Texas on November 19, 1949, to parents J.P. Raulston, Jr. and Ruby Ruth Hudson. Raised in Texas, she also lived in California and Boston, Massachusetts before returning to her home state of Texas.
Sylvia lived life to the fullest. She loved traveling and sailing with George and their pups on their sailboat. Sylvia loved her family and friends. She loved cooking, as anyone who ever was invited to one of her lobster dining experiences can attest. She was an expert cake maker, baking wedding cakes and anniversary cakes for many relatives and friends. She collected hedgehogs from all around the world. She also began the art of quilt-making in her retirement years and enjoyed making quilts with her friend, Mariette. Sylvia loved the color pink.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, J.P Raulston, Jr. and Ruby Ruth Hudson Melton, her niece, Kimberly Ruthann Threet, and great-nephew, Benjamin Roy Threet. Beloved dogs, Nikko and BeBe.
Sylvia is survived by her husband of 26-years, George Stuart Cary, Jr. and beloved, pampered dog, Leia of Grapevine, Texas; sister, Dianna Lantz of LaRue, Texas; brother, Phillip (Debryanne Johnson) Raulston of Fitchburg, Wisconsin; niece, Rena (David) Trent, great-nieces, Kimberly Angelise and Juliana Elisea, great-nephews, Daniel Joseph and Michael Kahnel all of LaRue, Texas; great-nephew D’Jay Sterling (Dakota) Threet; great-nieces, Faith Diamond (Chase) Frost of Gilbert, Arizona; Summer Nicole (Chance) Edwards, of Stephenson, Virginia; great-great-niece, Kimberlyn Pearl Edwards; great-great-nephews, Benjamin Threet, Leo Frost, Zander Frost; daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Anne (James) Corley of Grapevine, Texas; son, Robert “Jud” Judson (Carol) Cary of Trophy Club, Texas; grandchildren, Cayla Anne Cary of Dallas, Texas; Jake Stuart Cary of Trophy Club, Texas; Shelton Corley currently US Navy airman; Victoria (John) Talley, great-granddaughter, Claire Talley of Martins Mill, Texas; and many more family members and friends.
