Sylvia Contreras passed away on January 1, 2015. She was born in Dallas, Texas on June 8, 1936 to Raymond Santos and Helen Beltran. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who remains dearly loved by her family.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her father and mother; two brothers, Jose Jasso and J. R. Flores; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Marie Fuentes. She is survived by her husband, Edward Contreras; daughters, Deborah Contreras and Lisa Contreras Alcantar; grandchildren, John M. Contreras, Monica Contreras, Alexis Hernandez Carrion, Samera Jangda, Nicholas Hernandez, Christopher Alcantar, and Sunshine Santiago-Contreras; great-grandchildren, Xavier Contreras, Karisma Tobias, Dezaray Tobias, Karyssa Contreras, Fabian Tobias, Adrian Carrion, Jr., Adriana Hernandez, Analyse J. Carrion, Aaliyah J. Carrion, Graciella Webb-Contreras, Julian Dominic Webb-Contreras, John Michael Contreras, and Julian Christopher Alcantar; and numerous loving nieces nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 4 – 8 PM and a Rosary Vigil will begin at 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2015 in the Funeral Home Chapel at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2015 in the North Mausoleum Chapel. Interment will be in Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
