Sylvia Green

July 12, 1933 – October 29, 2014

A celebration of the life of Sylvia Green will be held Saturday, November 1st at 2:00 P.M. at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas. Interment will be in Crystal Springs, Mississippi.

Sylvia was a gifted, talented musician and entertainer whose ministry touched countless lives. Even to the end she brought joy to her friends at the nursing home as she played the piano and sang on numerous occasions. It is impossible to count the many weddings, funerals, and special events the she helped her friends celebrate by playing the piano. She was the organist/pianist for East Grand Baptist Church, which later became Grandview Baptist Church for approximately 50 years. She served at First Baptist Church for 5 years, and was used in various areas of the Southern Baptist Ministry throughout the South. Her music inspired and brought comfort to all who worshiped with her.

She was loved and appreciated as a friend and coworker, and a kind, generous, lovely lady who reached out and found her place in so many of our hearts and lives.
