With heavy hearts, yet unwavering faith in God’s perfect will, we celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin, and family treasure...TATE AMIR RICHMOND also known as “Tate, the Champ”. Tate passed peacefully into the hands of God and returned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Born November 13, 2020, Tate was a precious gift whose time with us, though brief, was filled with immeasurable love, purpose, and impact. From the moment he entered this world, he brought light, joy, and a deep sense of connection to all who had the blessing of knowing him. His presence, gentle spirit, and pure love will forever remain imprinted on our hearts.
Tate was deeply cherished by his loving parents, who poured into him endless love, care, and devotion. He was a joy to his family—a bright light whose life, though short, spoke volumes. His bond with his aunt Mia as well as his siblings was both special and unbreakable, filled with love that will continue to live in their hearts forever. He was also the pride and joy of his Nana, her favorite taste-tester/cooking partner whose love for him knew no bounds.
Though Tate faced health challenges of “CHD” also known as congenital heart disease, his life was a true testament to strength, resilience, and hope. Through every moment, he was surrounded by prayer, support, and unwavering faith. While our hearts grieve deeply, we find comfort in knowing that Tate now rests peacefully in the arms of the Lord. As it is written in Matthew 19:14, “But Jesus said, Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
Tate’s life reminds us that every day is a gift. Though we did not have him as long as we wished, we are eternally grateful that God chose us to love him. In his last and final days, Tate shared the gospel multiple times reminding us all that “Jesus was his best friend and that Jesus was coming”. He leaves behind a legacy of life that will never fade—a love that will continue to live on through his beloved parents, Tim and Tanisha; Nanny-LaRhonda Thomas; siblings—Trinitee, Tylan, Tylei, Talia and Tucker; Aunts: Sharee Glenn & Mia Gibson; Uncle: Nicholas Richmond; bonus grand parents David and Sonia Gooding; God Parents: Cedric and Tasha McDonald, followed by a host of loving aunts as well as a host of cousins who were his biggest supporters and fans. Also, grandmother, Julia Richmond; grandfather: Donald Baldwin; as well as a great-grandmother, Deborah Thomas, whom all hold him dear.
We will forever love you, Tate. You will forever be a part of us, and we will forever share your story. Until we meet again...the beat goes on.
