The fourth child, Thelma Lee Barmore, was born to the parentage of John and Dollie Barmore on June 28, 1929 in Dubach, Louisiana. Thelma lived in Dubach for 14 years prior to relocating to Los Angles, California. While in Dubach, she attended elementary school and Hopewell Baptist Church. At Hopewell Baptist Church, Thelma accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and publicly declared her faith during baptism. After moving to Los Angles California in 1943, Thelma continued her education in the public school system. At the tender age of 18, she married the love of her life, Edmond Collins.
