Tom is survived by his wife of 67 years Dorothy, his daughters Cecilia Marie Goodier and her family, Linda Strauser and her family, Sara Typhair and her family, and his son Robert "Bob" Brock and his family.
Tom grew up in rural Indiana, joined the Air Force in 1948 and served as a B-25 Crew Chief, B-29 Flight Engineer, and B-36 Flight Engineer. After the military Tom returned to Indiana and was a truck driver delivering custom made furniture all over the United States. It was in Indiana that he met Dorothy and they were married in 1956. Tom earned an Associates Degree in Commercial Arts and in 1962 moved his family to Texas to pursue his new career. Tom's other passion was aviation which culminated when he bought a 1949 Ryan Navion (single engine airplane) in 1974.
After raising four successful children Tom and Dorothy retired, sold the house, sold the airplane, bought an RV and traveled the United States, wintering in Whitney, TX. Tom was exceptionally fit for 93 years of age but dementia eventually robbed him of his prized independence. Tom passed away in his sleep surrounded by family.
A visitation for Thomas will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will occur Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Hill Main Mausoleum North Chapel. A committal service will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220.
