

Thomas Jackson Hunter met the love of his life, Glenda Faye Lilly in Zwolle, LA and later were united in holy matrimony on December 3, 1966. Thomas and Glenda left Zwolle, LA and moved to Dallas, TX in 1968. This love blossomed four children: Toni Nigel Hunter, Demetria Rashawn Hunter, Thomas Jackson Hunter Jr., and Tavares James Hunter. This union lasted for 58 years until his death.
Thomas gave his life to Christ at an early age. Years after moving to Dallas, TX he decided to rededicate his life to Christ and be baptized again. He shared this moment along with his sons at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church with them all being baptized.
Thomas served in the military from 1960 to 1966. He wore many hats and worked as a warehouse supervisor until his retirement. Thomas was often called “the neighborhood dad” and “the mayor of Timber Dell”. Thomas enjoyed putting up Christmas lights and making Christmas signs gearing up for the Christmas season. Thomas had a green thumb and loved planting flowers and doing yard work. He made everyone around him feel welcomed and would lend a hand to anyone that needed help.
Preceded him in death were his parents, Elmore Middleton Sr. and Jessie Kate Liddell-Hunter, brother, Jimmie Hunter, sister, Ethel Curry Lindsey, sister, Barbara Huff, and great- grandchild, DeAundre Hunter.
Thomas leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Glenda Hunter; children, Toni Hunter, Demetria Hunter, Thomas Hunter Jr. (Brenda), and Tavares Hunter (Myriam); grandchildren, Jessica Hunter, Tiffany Hunter, DeTonia Wilcott, Kedric Wilcott, Zyone Wilson- Hunter, and Kayla Cato; great-grandchildren, Kamreon, Kristian, Jade, Jaci, Kenzley, and Gianni. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his brothers and sisters, Mollie Leatherwood, Clara Oates, Pearl Wilson, Elmore Middleton Jr. (Edna), Jerry Middleton (Surlene), Gloria Smith, Dannie Middleton, William Middleton Sr. (Bettye), Glenda Woods, Michael Middleton (Rachel), and JohnEtta Ward (Ricky); brother and sister in-laws, Hazel Willis (Connie), Robert Lilly II (Dale), and Leonard Lilly (Barbara); close friends, Jimmy Bibles, Edward McElroy, and Sam Wilkerson; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
