October 7, 1939 - April 1, 2018
Tommy was taken from the loving arms of his family into the everlasting love of the Lord where he is free of his recent burden of declining health.
He is preceded in death by parents, Clint and Anna Richardson, Brother Clint Richardson, Jr. and son Jerry Torrez. He leaves behind his wife, Lupe Richardson, his brother, Eddie Richardson, his children George Torrez, Luis Torrez, Clinton Richardson, Regina Fox, Maria Torrez and Chris Richardson. Also his thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as many extended family members.
Tommy Richardson was born in Warrior Mines, West Virginia to Clinton and Anna Richardson. After graduating from Big Creek High School in 1957 he joined the Air Force with hopes to traveling the world but was disappointed to only get as far as Montgomery, Alabama. After his time in the service Texas was proud to welcome Tommy, his parents and two brothers. Tommy made many long lasting friendships while working at Dallas Cap and Emblem and then retiring from Park Cities Utility Water Department after 23 years.
While Texas was home Tommy was known for always planning his next road trip. Tommy and Lupe were happiest on the road enjoying the journey as much as the destination.
During his free time, Tommy spent a lot of time tending a wonderful garden and shared the bounty with family and friends. He shared much more than his garden. Tommy was a true shepherd of the Lord putting others needs before his own. He and Lupe were a team who were always on the job to provide comfort and support to those in need. Tommy's kind heart and gentle soul will be remembered through the stories we tell, re-tell and share with each other for many years.
Visitation will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 - 8 pm.
Funeral services at Laurel Land Funeral Home on Friday at 10 am, interment following.
