

Tom passed away peacefully at the age of 91 with family by his side. Tom dedicated his life to serving the Lord. He will be remembered for his strong faith, love and dedication to his family and his love of people.
As a lifelong Dallas resident Tom attended North Dallas High school and Southern Methodist University. Tom served his country in the U.S. Army. After his military service, Tom married the love of his life, Carole Jean Haas, and celebrated 67 years together. He worked for his father's company, Jaggers Chiles Stovall, learning the trade of typesetting. He went on to become Vice President. Then along with his brother, they opened Chiles & Chiles Graphic Services. He adored and looked up to his brother and working side by side with him. Tom and Carole joined Highland Park Presbyterian Church where Tom had the honor of being a Deacon then an Elder. Next, Tom and Carole became charter members of Park Cities Presbyterian Church in 1991, where Tom worked as Director of Property Development for 16 years.
Tom was on the board of the Leap Global Missions and volunteered his time at the Scottish Rite Hospital. His positive attitude and uplifting ways brought so much joy wherever he was in life. Tom was a devoted man of God, a dedicated father to his children and faithful husband to his wife, Carole.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Irene Chiles and brother, William "Bill" Richard Chiles and wife, Judy, and brother-in-law, Jim Allums. He is survived by his wife, Carole; daughters, Cynthia and Catherine; son-in-law, Ed McNutt; grandson, Lucus Shaw; and sister, MaryAnn Allums; along with nieces & nephews.
As Tom's health declined, he eventually entered Brookdale Alzheimer's and Dementia Care where he spent the last 1 1/2 year of his life. The family would like to thank those who so lovingly cared for him.
A visitation to honor Tom will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225. A worship service will be held the following day, on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in the Chapel, 4124 Oak Lawn Avenue, Dallas, TX 75219.
