I met Tim when I was a Sergeant with Dallas PD. I met him through his cousin, another DPD Sgt. Johnny Newton. We became friends and intermittently throughout our lives visited both professionally and personally. When I moved back from San Antonio, Tim rode the wife and I around showing us homes in the Forney area. I liked Tim for his professional demeanor when we had professional contact and I liked him personally, because he was honest, hard working, loved his family and always had this great smile and wonderful outlook on life. Last saw him when the wife and I went to a fundraiser when he ran for sheriff. Tim was one of those guys, like my high school pals, that I could walk away from him one day and two years later meet with him and it was like we had never parted. His wife is a wonderful lady and I send her and the family our deepest regrets. Tim will be greatly missed, may he rest in peace. Goodby my brother in blue.

The loss of our friend Tim is hard, and painful for many of us. We grew up five houses apart and he tease me because I was a few months older than him. My fondest memory is as children, playing kickball and acting as silly as any kids could act! Always competitive, but such a good sport! I will meet you in heaven my friend! I am praying for God to comfort your family and friends. This is a huge loss for us but not Tim!

What a great guy Tim was. A public servant and a risk taker in politics. We are blessed by his friendship. He was so appreciated and our hearts go out to Beth and the rest of the family.

One of my best memories is when My husband Joe was teaching Tim, Beth and I how to make tamales at the home of Carlos and Patty Tijerina. So many laughs that night. Years later I ask Tim if he wanted to make some more and have margaritas! He was up for the margarita’s but not making tamales. To much work involved in that he said! We will miss you friends. Love you Joe and Kim Rivera
