Tommie Louise Martin McClung passed away on August 21, 2021, in her Dallas home at age 82. She was born in Emerson, Georgia, and moved to Dallas with her husband, Mel, in 1967 to start a new business. Tommie worked as a legal secretary while the company was growing. Her passions were traveling and fine clothes. She dressed impeccably and wore them well. It was a common joke that if Tommie stopped buying clothes, Neiman’s and Chanel sales would take a dip. The couple traveled the world and when their daughter, Tonya, and son, Matt, were old enough, they were brought along and visited Africa, Italy, France, Spain and other places too numerous to mention.
Tommie is survived by her husband, Mel, daughter Tonya and husband Jason, son Matt and his wife, Charlotte. She has four grandchildren: Maddy (15), Allison (12), Joshua (11) and Rebecca (6).
Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM, Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX, 75225. A private committal service will take place on Sunday at Sparkman-Hillcrest Mausoleum.
