Tommy Joe Lout was born in Beaumont, Texas, and grew up in the piney woods of Jasper, Texas, where he was a proud member of the Jasper High School Bulldog Marching Band. He went on to graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Fran Lout. They were married on August 30, 1969, and shared 56 years together in Dallas. They welcomed their daughter Kelly in 1971.
Tommy was a talented graphic designer and the President of Tom Lout & Company. He also served as President of Dallas Society of Visual Communications (DSVC) and taught college courses at Collin County Community College. His creativity also extended to music as the lead singer of The Fuzztones, a Rock ‘N Roll band made up of fellow graphic designers.
He loved outdoor sports. Tommy enjoyed motocross and spent countless days hunting and fishing. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings as well as taking food to friends during illness and in times of need.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife, Fran Lout; daughter, Kelly Lout; brother, Mike Lout (Debbie); and brothers- and sisters-in-law Ken and Susan Woodard and Mike and Julie Masterpool. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces: Trenton (Denise), Brooklynn (Lane), Yale (Brittany), Adeline, and Evelyn Woodard; Kyle (Abbie), Sawyer, and Leslie Masterpool. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Opal Lout.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225. A reception will follow. The family requests that you wear bright colors.
