Tommy Thompson, Sr. was born on August 11, 1938, in Garrison, Texas to the beloved Arthur & Arnie Williams Thompson who both preceded him in death. Three sisters (Merlene Goodman, Lanora Ross, and Lucille Allen) and five brothers (Uless Thompson, Grady Thompson, Booker T. Thompson, Arthur Thompson and Winfred Thompson) proceed him in death. He moved to Dallas, Texas and married the “Love of His Life,” Lue Douglas, on June 18, 1955. They were married 69 years. In their union, four children were born: Tommy Thompson, Jr., Michael Thompson, Louis Thompson, and Vincent Thompson.
Tommy Sr. attended Concord School in Garrison, Texas. In 1966, he started his own business: T & L Maintenance Company. He attended City of Refuge church where his brother, the late Reverend Grady Thompson, was the Pastor. He later in life became a deacon and served at Crossroads of Life Assembly of God under Pastor Greg White. Tommy Sr. was a lover of Sunday school, where his wife, Lue, was a teacher.
Tommy Sr. is survived by his wife, Lue Thompson; sons, Tommy Thompson, Jr. (Denise), Michael Thompson, Louis Thompson and Vincent Thompson; sisters, Bernice Solomon, Izonia Lovett, Geneva Cummings, and Joy Bell; god daughters, Anitra Williams and Monica Hill and a host of loved ones.
